Yesterday I went to Houston to attend the funeral of
Dr. Ralph Feigin. Dr. Feigin was one of my greatest mentors in my training. He was the President of Baylor College of Medicine and Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics, and was truly among the most gifted physicians and teachers in the world of medicine. And by all accounts, he was an equally great father, grandfather, and friend. You may not have ever heard of Dr. Feigin, but I can promise you that his influence in the field of pediatrics will continue to advance the health of the world's children for years to come. In Dr. Feigin's words:
Pursue perfection in everything. No one will ever be perfect, but they will never be excellent if they don't pursue perfection.
