FluMist, a nasal spray flu vaccine, is now available in our offices for anyone ages 2 - 49 years. We expect to have the regular flu vaccine in stock soon for ages 6 months and older. FluMist has several major advantages over the traditional injection -- first of all, it is not a shot! It is a very gentle and small-volume nasal spray that has been well-tolerated by kids. Additionally, it is approximately 50% more effective than the injected form of the vaccine. It also gives long-lasting protection, so it is recommended to start vaccinating now. Even though flu season hasn't started yet, if you are coming in for your checkup now, FluMist will protect you for this entire winter season. Insurance coverage has been quite good, too.
