Swine Flu Update 4/29

This is a rapidly evolving situation, so I wll try to post as often as I can.  My gut feeling:  this is indeed a bad bug, but the total number of cases in the U.S. is still quite small.  This deserves our attention and preparedness, but not our panic.  Today's update from the Dallas County Health Department summarizes current statistics -- in brief, 3 confirmed and 11 probable cases in Dallas County, all of whom seem to be recovering uneventfully.  The site also has specific recommendations for infection control.

Even though this is a serious issue, I am still glad to see that people can maintain their sense of humor -- please click here to determine if you have swine flu.
