Favorite Kid's Music of the Summer

I am always on the lookout for good kid's music, but I haven't posted any favorites in a while.  Our family's top hit this summertime is the latest CD from They Might Be Giants, entitled "Here Come the 123s."  They Might Be Giants made music for big kids for years, but they have now done three albums for the little ones.  Their website appears to be under construction, but you can still get merchandise here.  The CD also comes with a DVD of well-made music videos for all the songs.  Caution, these songs will get stuck in your head for days.  Every year I make a "Mix CD" of kid's songs plus "real" songs that I think kids might like -- 2009 version is underway, so I will keep you posted.  My favorite blog on the subject of music for kids is Zooglobble -- check it out.

Their CD/DVD combo "Here Come the ABC's" is just as infectious (no pun intended) and a favorite of ours as well. We are eagerly awaiting their new release in September of "Here Comes Science." (You can get their stuff on Amazon, too.)Lisa Loeb's children's CD "Catch the Moon" is also easy on grown-up ears.
